Principal: Brian Williams

Assistant Principal: Amanda Johnson

I want to welcome students, parents and all community members to the 2014-2015 school year.  We are very excited for the opening of school on August 27th.  This year, we will have several new teachers that will be joining our faculty.  They will all be great additions to our school and are committed along with the other teachers and staff members to provide your students with a high quality instructional program in a safe and orderly learning environment.
This school year our school will be focused on our 21st Century learners by incorporating more technology opportunities within the classroom.  We are getting ready for when our students will receive their own computer devices within the next two years.  In order to prepare students to use these devices both at home and school, we want to make sure that families can have access to the internet.  Baltimore County Public Schools and Comcast has partnered together to offer affordable internet services to families that qualify for the Internet Essentials program.  More information will be coming in our September Newsletter.

We would like to welcome both new families and returning families to the new school year.  Attached to the September newsletter will be a copy of the Parent Handbook.  This handbook is a reference for parents that include our procedures and expectations for BHES.  Hopefully, this will be a helpful reference tool that will answer most of your questions about policy and procedures concerning our school.

Mr. Williams- Principal, Baltimore Highlands Elementary

Please remember that Back to School Night will be on Monday, August 25th for Grades 1 and 2 and on Tuesday, August 26th for Grades 3-5.  For parents that attend, they will be able to pick up a backpack for their child filled with school supplies.   If you have a child in Pre-k or Kindergarten, please reference the gradual entrance dates and times.

Our Mission

The BHES community meets the individual needs of the whole child while providing a safe and nurturing environment. We establish high expectations to create a foundation that inspires students to become lifelong learners.

We Believe:
  • Collaboration among staff, parents, students and community members is necessary to achieve academic excellence.
  • All community members serve as role models and should be valued.
  • Students should be challenged academically and socially to achieve their personal best.
  • Differentiated instruction is essential for our diverse learners.
  • All community members should show respect for self and others.
  • That teaching our students to think, dream, believe and achieve is vital to their future.
  • Our students will be responsible citizens and productive community members.

We hope everyone enjoys that last days of summer vacation and we look forward to a great beginning to the 2014-2015 school
